Phone number EmailI am a physicist with a broad background in medical imaging and ionizing radiation. In late 2020 I finished my masters in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Medical Physics. During my studies I have performed several internships at the Amsterdam UMC (Radiology & Nuclear Medicine department, and Biomedical Engineering and Physics department) and collaborations with the LUMC. I believe that working in a multidisciplinary environment is the best way to make solid progress.
When it comes down to cancer treatment people often first think of the need for radiotherapy. However, whenever possible, surgery is the first choice for treatment. At the NKI I work on the registration and classification of hyperspectral images of removed tumorous tissue, in order to aid the surgeon to remove this tissue more accurately – thus preventing the necessity for additional treatment.
