Susan Brouwer de Koning

I graduated from my studies in Technical Medicine (University of Twente) in early 2016, with a special interest in medical imaging and interventions. During my graduation project at Guy's Hospital, London, I validated a device to evaluate tumor margins during breast-conserving surgery. Due to my interest in intra-operative imaging technologies, I began working at the NKI as a PhD student and as a member of the Clinical Implementation Team, responsible for the implementation of new technologies in the operation room. At the moment I am researching the potential for diffuse reflectance spectroscopy to assess tumor margins intra-operatively.
