At the NKI, I apply my background in bioinformatics and metagenomics to data analysis and archiving of large gastrointestinal oncology study data. I am a bioinformatician in the department of Pathology in the Translational Gastrointestinal Oncology (TGO) research group of Gerrit Meijer. Work experience

In 2008, I graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry and psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology (Florida, USA). In 2013, after completing a Masters thesis in the field of viral metagenomics, I obtained a MSc in Bioinformatics and Medical Informatics from San Diego State University (California, USA). Most recently, I received my PhD in Microbial Biotechnology from the University of Leiden (Leiden, NL) in 2019 after conducting research in soil microbial ecology at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (Wageningen, NL).
