Monique Maas

In 2017, I joined the permanent staff of the Department of Radiology. As a clinical radiologist, I primarily work in the field of abdominal radiology (GI tract, gynaecology, liver). My second interest is neuroradiology/head and neck radiology. My research focuses on (imaging in) the wait- and-see policy in rectal cancer and on liver imaging in patients with colorectal cancer and neuro-endocrine tumours. I obtained my PhD (with distinction) in Maastricht in 2013 on paradigm shifts in the diagnosis
and treatment of patients with rectal cancer, with a specific focus on wait-and-see policy. Also, I run the clinical trial unit at the radiology department.
