Eric Marcus

My background lies in fundamental physics and mathematics, focusing on string theory. After completing my PhD, however, I wanted to use my analytical skills in the field of cancer research. Therefore, I started my postdoc in November 2021 in the ‘AI for Oncology’ group, led by Jonas Teuwen. Besides the AI group I also work together with the computational pathology group of Hugo Horlings.

My research focuses on more methodological aspects of artificial intelligence research. I aim to investigate and improve deep learning methods for better application to cancer research. Currently I am working on generative models, and self-supervised learning.
