Claudia Burrello

I obtained my PhD at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan. Here I unraveled mechanisms of regulation of gut inflammatory pathways fueled by the gut microbiota, specifically focusing on iNKT cell contribution in intestinal inflammation and carcinogenesis.

In November 2019 I joined Prof. K. de Visser's lab where I am currently investigating how tumor associated myeloid cells counteract chemotherapy response in breast cancer and how combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy could unleash antitumor immune response.
