Olga Husson is group leader ‘Personalized oncology in adolescent and young adult patients’ at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. As the coordinator of scientific studies of the AYA Zorgnetwerk, it is her goal is to provide the best age-specific AYA care for every AYA in the Netherlands, helping AYAs regain their strength and autonomy and live their lives to the best of their ability during and after their cancer diagnoses, and being able to be a meaningful and distinguished part of society.
Every year, the Dutch Society of Psychosocial Oncology (NVPO) issues the Hanneke de Haes award (previously the NVPO award) to someone who has made an exceptional contribution to psychosocial oncology in the Netherlands. These exceptional contributions can vary between scientific research, psycho-oncological health care, the development of expertise and education, and special services for the Society itself.
