He is a Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the University of the Cambridge Department of Chemistry, a founding Associate Faculty Member in Synthetic Genomics at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, and a fellow and director of studies in Biochemistry at Trinity College, Cambridge.
