About the IGS-NKI:The Image-Guided Surgery (IGS) research group at the Netherlands Cancer Institute – Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is seeking a recently graduated student to join our dynamic team of researchers, clinicians, and scientists.
In this impactful position, you will play a crucial role in designing medical devices/surgical tool that can improve surgical outcomes and optimize patient care. You will work alongside a team of medical professionals to create an intuitive and functional tool.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, your insights and design skills will directly enhance ongoing projects. Ultimately, your contributions will help surgeons to improve cancer treatment outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:- Create detailed design specifications and prototypes;
- Iterate on designs based on feedback and test results;
- Ensure the final product meets functional requirements;
- Provide illustrations of developed prototypes.
- You will work in a cutting-edge research environment;
- You will join a dynamic international research group;
- You will collaborate with scientists and clinicians with expertise in different disciplines;
- A gross monthly salary between €2.429,- and €3.440,- for a 36-hour work week, according to salary scale FWG 35;
- An initial 7-month on-call contract, with the possibility of extension. The working hours are flexible, for 1 to 2 days per week;
- The terms of employment will be in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Hospitals (CAO Hospitals);
- Annually 8.33% holiday pay, a fixed year-end bonus of 8.33%, and 13.41% holiday leave compensation;
- Your travel expenses will be reimbursed at € 0,23 per km. Free parking at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is also part of the package;
- Personnel is stimulated to use public transport and bicycle and therefore we offer an interesting arrangement for bikers and/or discount on the NS-business card;
- Amsterdam is a stunning city with many cultural amenities. The institute is located within a 20-minute tram or bicycle ride from the center of Amsterdam and within 20 minutes from Schiphol airport by car, bus or bicycle.
