The Netherlands Cancer Institute offers a motivating, interactive, and supportive environment in which people from various fields of expertise work together. We are committed to train the next generation of leaders in the field of cancer research.
Around 600 scientist are currently working at the NKI, together with approximately 150 scientific and 150 administrative support staff members. Our research unites various disciplines; the full spectrum – from fundamental research to clinical research. The NKI is embedded in several (inter)national scientific networks, providing easy access to a broad range of institutes, technologies, and expertise.
Approximately 55 nationalities are represented at the NKI, creating a vibrant international community. All communication is in English. The NKI is located close to the city center of Amsterdam (15 minutes by bike), and the internal airport Schiphol. Amsterdam is a multicultural city which offers lots of festivals, museums, sport activities, and a world-renowned party scene. The institute’s surrounding area provides accommodation for most of our staff.
